Art & Culture in Mallorca: Galleries, Museums & Hidden Gems for Visitors

Mallorca has inspired artists for centuries — from Chopin and George Sand to Joan Miro and the thriving contemporary art scene of today. A golf holiday in Mallorca offers the perfect opportunity to explore the island's cultural treasures between rounds.

Fundacio Miro Mallorca The great Catalan artist Joan Miro made Mallorca his home for over 30 years. His studio and foundation in the Cala Major district of Palma houses a stunning collection of his paintings, sculptures, and graphics. The building itself, designed by Josep Lluis Sert, is a work of art. Just 10 minutes from Son Vida Golf — perfect for a post-round cultural stop.

Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art Perched on the old city walls of Palma with views of the cathedral and harbour, Es Baluard is Mallorca's premier contemporary art museum. The collection includes works by Picasso, Miro, Barcelo, and rotating exhibitions from international artists. The rooftop terrace with its panoramic views is not to be missed.

CCA Andratx (Centro de Arte Contemporaneo) One of Europe's largest contemporary art centres, CCA Andratx sits in a stunning converted factory in the southwest of the island. After a round at Golf Santa Ponsa, the 20-minute drive to Andratx takes you through beautiful mountain scenery to this extraordinary gallery complex.

Palma's Gallery District The streets around Carrer de Sant Feliu in Palma's old town are packed with independent galleries showing everything from traditional Mallorcan landscapes to cutting-edge contemporary work. Spend an afternoon gallery-hopping, stopping for coffee at the historic Ca'n Joan de S'aigo (Mallorca's oldest cafe, since 1700).

Deia: The Artist's Village The mountain village of Deia has been a magnet for artists and writers since Robert Graves settled here in the 1930s. Visit the Robert Graves museum, browse the village galleries, and have lunch at one of the clifftop restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean.

Rialto Living, Palma Part gallery, part design store, part cafe — Rialto Living in a restored 19th-century Palma cinema is a lifestyle destination that showcases Mallorcan design, art, and craftsmanship.

Sineu Market Every Wednesday, the inland town of Sineu hosts Mallorca's oldest and most authentic market. Local artisans sell ceramics, textiles, leather goods, and paintings alongside fresh produce and livestock. A wonderful half-day trip on your non-golf day.

Our Tip: Ask our concierge to pair your golf schedule with cultural recommendations. We know the island inside out — not just the fairways.
